Family Safety location tracking not working

FYI, The issue has nothing to do with phone model (Samsung, Sony or IPhone). We have 3 android phones (Xperia 5 III, Xperia 1 III and Samsung A35) 1 iphone. The location sharing is on all phones, location of the family members are not updating on any of the 4 apps installed on mobile devices or the Microsoft family home page. There is no force refresh action button either. It randomly shows, 4 hours 6 hours and 5 minutes ago differently for each member.

Shame on you MS. couldn't resolve a simple issue for months and you keep wasting time of many people here with none sense troubling shooting steps although you actually know, it resolves nothing!

It has been 5+ months. This is unacceptable. What is the fix?

Not a workaround. Not an old version. A FIX.

After not having seen any real acceptance of ownership, from Microsoft, of tracking issue with Family Safety, I decided to update, on the Google Play store, my rating and changed my feedback, to include a skating remark about tracking issues.

Something quite miraculous occurred, I received feedback from Microsoft effectively owning up to this problem and finally saying that they are working on it!

The growing frustration, out on the forums is mostly due to the lack of response from Microsoft on this matter. I would be willing to guess that most people using Family Safety on Android will also have family link also set up, so we are not entirely in the dark about our children's whereabouts.

First let me say I do not work, nor have I ever worked for Microsoft.

Personally, being a developer, I understand the often-overwhelming challenges the development team must overcome to provide a product that will work not simply across a multitude of vendor devices but the many versions and subversions of Android.

The Google Android team is under greater pressure, than ever, to tighten up the security and their product, and therefore it is also well known in developer circles that their incremental patch updates and new versions are constantly breaking things.

I looked at the minimum system requirements for Family Safety and it will work on Android 8.0 and up. So that means the team has to ensure that this app will work on 6+ major , and two minor versions of Android, all with their own tweaks and changes to the security model.

After saying all of that, I don't want anyone to think that I am trying to come off as an apologist for Microsoft, far from it. I am simply empathetic to the team and the difficulties that are often involved in being a developer. But I think people are more willing to be patient when they know what is going on, and bearing your head in the sand and clamping down is not a good policy.

So last week I did a full clear storage, remove app En reinstall action on the three samsung phones of our family (iPhone keeps on working correctly) and what do you know: after half an hour of work all locations where correctly updated again!

I have the same problem.

The android phones report that a location wax requested and sent, but it's not being reported by the Microsoft app on the supervise phone.

It was fixed for a while by reverting to an older version 1.23 of family safety on my phone.

Now picks up location,

But recently on one phone, the pixel 6 has just stopped reporting its location, while still working on a Samsung a41.
