How to turn off Windows security asking me for a password to see my Google Chrome passwords

Hey David, I'm just some random guy who had the same problem, but mine was that it was asking for my "windows hello" every time I wanted to enter in a password saved on chrome. I solved it by following these steps (ill just map them out bellow in bullet points).

1. in chrome hit the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner
2. select settings (second to the bottom of the options)
3. in the navigation bar to the left go to "autofill and passwords"
4. hit "google password manager" (this will open a new tab for some reason)
5. in the new tab, to the left, hit "settings"
6. toggle off "use windows hello when filling passwords"

that's how I solved my problem. I'm hoping that if you don't have windows hello set up the thing you can toggle at the end would be something like "use password when filling passwords" or something like that. If not, sorry, but I hope that could help/ hope that the setting you need is somewhere in that general area. : )

FOUND THE SETTING

it is a chrome setting >> Autofill and Passwords?? Password Manager >> Use Windows Hello when Filling In Passwords >> Turn off

Menu > Passwords > (three dot menu in top right) > Options > disable/uncheck "Require device sign in to fill and manage passwords"
