My microsoft account got hacked by a rambler.ru account and replaced my original email with theirs. that email address is [PII Removed] i requested a security info change from that email address back to my own but now my account is locked for two days and i'm not sure if requesting a security info change alone would be enough to keep the hacker from my account.
from my understanding too, I believe that they originally got to my microsoft account by hacking my email credentials.

I am Dave, I will help you with this.
Usually when a hacker changes the Email on a Microsoft Account, then that account cannot be recovered, it is lost and there is no method to recover the account.
If you have been luck enough to be able to recover your account, when the 2 day time period has lapsed, it would be best to ensure you have a very strong password on your account and enable 2 factor authentication on your account to ensure the hacker no longer can access your account.

My account was also hacked by this email wondering how you fix it try going to support you need to enter your Gamertag then enter the email that hacked you in the next box, then you go down skip postal code stuff enter 2 passwords associated with the account previously that was hacked next submit it then you have retrieved your account although the only way to get into it is by using the email that hacked you so I suggest saving it. (Don't select that you have spent money on this account if you don't know your card details) I also almost managed to get into the email to the account so I'll let you know how to once I do
I dont have any fix for you you should just find out what email or anything associated with your account but i used skype since they cant change skype name for some reason
This would be more complicated if you dont have external account with your microsoft just try to fill out the acsr
Oh I already recovered it, I was just sending instructions on how to, and yes you need to use the email name of the rambler to log in then put in the password you changed it to.
