Hi
I too had the same problem and the only thing that sorted it was an Microsoft update (sorry can't tell you which one). This seemed to sort out the issue.

I am unable to open Microsoft Solitaire and Casual Games the last few days. First it was telling me there was no internet connection when there was. Then it just stopped opening up.
I first did and trouble shoot and fix on Microsoft Store.
I ended up having to Reset the Microsoft Solitaire and Casual Games - losing all my years of scores and challenges.
Still not working.
Day 4. Gave up and Uninstalled Microsoft Solitaire and Casual Games and Reinstalled. Still not working.
I pay for a premium subscription for a game I cannot even play.
Any ideas what is wrong?

Download and install Mahjong. From that game you can link to Solitaire. If you do that from then on it works. That seems to be the solution for nearly everybody on here. Good Luck
Hi, I have been following and have the same problem. I tried all your solutions and this one worked using another user account. I had over a month without internet due to a wild fire burning the phone lines and played the solitaire games, but when I got internet again it did not work. Do you know how I can play the solitaire games without changing the user account.
Thank you for all your help in the previous posts,
I uninstalled the latest Windows updates. Then I reinstalled Microsoft Solitaire and it worked perfect.
Adding Mah-jong to my folder, then opened it read games rules closed it, then opened solitaire, all OK
