I frequently use File Explorer to search for local files. Until recently, it would remember my past file searches, but beginning two days ago, without warning, File Explorer no longer remembers those searches; the search bar is empty. How do I reenable it?
I've confirmed that search and file history is enabled in Privacy settings. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Diplocaulus, and the other users who replied here.
The current Windows 11 File Explorer no longer shows the search history, by design.

In other words, I post a criticism of a change MS made to my OS, WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE, and now MS wants me to reiterate my criticism in another forum? Didn't MS just invest $10 B in AI? This is a perfect example of S.N.A.F.U., a concept that I believe was first coined back in 1941!!!!!
This is just another tech support run-around scam and I, for one, am not going to waste my time giving any more feedback.
I guess I'll just keep postponing all the updates for the foreseeable future since it seems you are also going to keep bundling 'features' with the security updates. Great, just great. That's some great design.
Just bring it back and make it an option. What a bizarre way to just take away a feature, truly the Windows 11 way.
