why am i getting icloud sign on pop up window all the time?

Hi Rick,

I'm Christine, a Windows user like you. I'll do my best to help you.

Looks like you're getting a popped up of iCloud on your startup.

This usually occurs when it's enabled on Startup Settings.

To disable it, please follow the steps below:

Press right click the Start Menu and choose Task Manager, then select the Startup tab and right-click iCloud and select Disable.

Restart your device and it should not popped up on your startup.

    I get this from time to time and going to the Start Menu doesn't help - there is no "enable" option there to disable. What's also odd is that it keeps doing it even when I am logged into iCloud and actively using it!

    I can’t find iCloud in the task manager list. I have no idea what caused this issue only it happened after I allowed some update tonight. I really don’t know enough but it’s been fine up til this point . Scary!

    This popup appears at startup for me.

    I'm suspecting a virus infection because:

    1. I do not recall installing iCloud software or enabling it
    2. I do not have an iCloud account (the popup invites me to open an account)
    3. A day before this iCloud popup started, out of nowhere I started getting popups that I have to reactivate Windows 10 license. I've had this machine for 5 years and have done nothing dishonest about the license or against the rules (AFAIK).

    (Windows 10 on a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop)

    I did a Quick Scan for a virus, but nothing.

    I've just Disabled the 5 iCloud apps that now appear in Task Manager, Startup. We'll see how that works.

    Do you think this is an infection? How would it be installed "behind my back" so to speak? Any advice?
