Linking phone to PC creates duplicate contacts

You might all want to have a look at this link which refers to the identical problem but with Teams as against Link to Windows: Fixes or workarounds for recent issues on Outlook.com - Microsoft Support

Run the EXE file and it deletes the spurious contacts folder created by Link to Windows/Teams with reference to your phone. Choose that folder. Let the app take its time to run. Be patient. It eliminated thousands of duplicate contacts in my case.

What remains unclear is whether you also need to sync the Samsung accounts contacts folder. My understanding is that the Outlook sync is one way.

Someone might address that please.

On further review, I see the duplicates, except for a few, went away in Outlook.com but on the New Outlook for Windows app, they did not go away. All duplicates still remain so I have about 3 to 4 contacts for every single one that I should have. Unfortunately, it appears the only way to remove them is 10 at a time which will take hours. I don't get how they can go away in Outlook.com website but not in Outlook for Windows. This is supposed to synchronize.

Further, in outlook.com I was able to delete the contacts categories that created the duplicates, but I cannot remove them from Outlook for Windows.

Interesting twist on this problem. The duplicates ONLY show in the Search function! All of my contact lists (S22 Ultra, Windows 10, Outlook.com) are clean of any duplicates.

How do I clean up the Search function?

Just figured this out after seeing your post. I've got 10K in here and I don't have 10K in my Outlook Contacts - This is indeed a BUG!

So I deleted all my contacts from the Outlook Folder in contacts called "contacts synced by Link to Windows" Upgraded the App on my Windows Computer and now I'm waiting for the contacts to re-sync. Does anyone know how long this takes? The Link app on Windows only shows phone numbers now. I also went into the Link App on my phone and disabled sync on contacts and re-enabled it and so far nothing.
