Are you frustrated with your Windows 10 time zone settings not updating correctly? Many users encounter this issue where their system keeps reverting to UTC+01:00. In this post, we'll walk you through the steps to resolve this problem without the need to refer to the YouTube video mentioned.
Step 1: Adjust Windows 10 Settings
- Go to Windows 10 settings by clicking on the Start menu and selecting "Settings."
- In the Settings window, navigate to "Time & Language" and then "Date & time."
- Turn on the "Set time automatically" option, and at the same time, turn off the "Set time zone automatically" option.
Don't be alarmed if your time zone still appears incorrect at this stage. We'll address that shortly.
Step 2: Run timedate.cpl as an Administrator
- Open the search bar in Windows by clicking on the magnifying glass icon next to the Start button.
- Type "timedate.cpl" in the search bar. When the result appears, right-click on it and choose "Run as administrator."
Even if you're logged in as an administrator, running the tool with elevated privileges might be necessary.
Step 3: Change Your Time Zone
- In the "Date and Time" window that appears, click on the "Change time zone" button.
- Select the correct time zone from the list.
- Click "OK" to confirm the new time zone, and then click "OK" once more in the main "Date and Time" window.
Step 4: Verify Your Settings
After completing these steps, return to the Windows 10 Settings page, and you should now see that your time zone reflects correctly.
