Failed to install version 22h2 0xc190011f

the drive was inserted on the mobo prior to booting up.

The usb drive was seen and it booted to the windows installation setup where i was able to choose which version of windows i wanted (win 11) and then immediately it gave me that error. im almost done with work so i will restart and try again.

I used a 64gb usb 3.0 drive for the media creation tool and it was automatically installed on that USB when i started up the media creation tool program on my computer.

i have noticed it is difficult to get the ram in the slots for this mobo as well. i will double check that, however, the computer posted and shows the proper amount of ram/speed.

i have not downloaded the samsung software from their website and it is using whatever drivers that windows has chosen.

i am in the middle of installing the OS with the media creation tool. was able to get it to work, however, near the end of installation, i received the same "Page fault in nonpaged area" BSOD. this happens every time i reinstall the OS.

I feel like it all comes down to the installation of the OS now. There is something missing. Is this a drive issue or mobo issue?

I also did a memtest86 and it came back with zero errors for the ram.

what an exhausting issue. its like nothing fixes this.

i checked device manager and i see this:

not sure what thats from. and also, my drivers for nvidia are still failing, however, the microsoft updates have updated with no issues.

the biggest constants are the page fault error when installing windows and the driver issues from nvidia which all of this could be tied together somehow.

 I've been following this thread of yours. Since the discussion between you and Saltgrass was very lively, I didn't bother you earlier.

I have noticed that you have made considerable efforts to solve this problem. And you've tried to install the system from scratch many times, but you're still getting all kinds of errors.

To be honest, I have no way to directly confirm whether it is the fault of the drive or the fault of the motherboard, but in your discussion, I noticed a small detail. You initially used a USB drive with Windows 11, and later tried USB installation media made with the media creation tool, or reset the system. To ensure that the USB installation media is OK, I recommend that you follow the linked instructions for creating the media and installing the system:

Reinstall or clean install Windows 11

Sorry that you may need to do this again, but if you have gone through everything and confirmed that this is what you did before, you do not need to do this one more time.

I noticed in the screenshot above that there are quite a few exception drivers with yellow exclamation marks. This is usually because newly installed systems do not come with dedicated drivers for all devices, so you may need to visit the appropriate web address separately to obtain the appropriate drivers and install them.

If the problem persists after you have updated all the drivers and made sure the installation media is intact, my final advice to you is to check your SSD, HDD, GPU, MOBO individually. This requires the use of professional testing equipment (not just software for testing), so you may need the assistance of hardware support staff.

Thanks for adding your input.

i am checking the link you sent while im at work and it looks like there is a few links on that one i need to go through to get to the very beginning of this process which is to have the usb, download median creation tool, install it on the usb, and then to the first link where it shows the installation.

i can look into that in more depth when i get back, however, i can describe to you the process i went through from the beginning.

i inserted a 64gb usb drive. went to microsoft's website, downloaded the creation tool, started the creation tool, it installed on my usb drive, i rebooted and set my boot as the usb drive, went through the windows 11 installation setup and used that to format/delete the current OS m.2 drive and clean installed windows.

when it is about finished installing, right at the end, i get the page fault non page area issue and the computer resets and brings me to the windows setup where it just ask me basic personal questions. Typically, this is where i would have issues installing the windows updates multiple times, but the last few times, i have had no issue getting the latest updates it seems up to 22H2 version. Everything seems to work fine.

I do the sfc scannow and other dism commands to make sure everything is fine. typically, i would have some errors, however, the most recent installs have been fine. no errors. But like always, i still have the issue with my geforce drivers failing initially. its like they have to be reinstalled multiple times before it works. Eventually, it installs and i try to play games like hogwarts/callisto/etc. anything that has dx12 and preloads the shaders just instantly crash with the "Out of video memory" error.

Both my 4090 gpu and 3090 gpu have this same error on this particular system. both cards have been tested on my windows 10 computer with a 9900k processor and work fine. so its not the GPUs and i dont think its the driver from nvidia because that same driver is on my windows 10 build.

This makes me think that there is just something missing in the files somewhere and its never replaced no matter what is done. Initially, that makes me think its an OS issue, but i wonder if there is something cached in the motherboard or maybe in the m.2 drive that is corrupted causing this issue.

I tend to believe its not the storage device because i also have clean installed windows 11 a few times on another m.2 drive and i receive the same exact issue. I have also tried different m.2 slots and different pcie slots for the gpu. same issue.

I know a little bit about PC's just from tinkering with them over the years and personal troubleshooting such as this but i am not an expert. I wonder is there a way to get these parts completely factory reset as if new. Maybe reinstall/update the bios as well? Idk.

One thing i would like to ask is that i have a new motherboard on the way today and i want to install the 13900k cpu from this system on to that and also use the second m.2 drive as a boot drive with win 11 OS, however, do you think there would be any issues using that drive since i used it to test the issue on my current system and had the same problem? is it possible that if the problem was my primary m.2, could it have corrupted my motherboard somehow and then also, when i tried using the 2nd m.2 to test with the OS, that it also got corrupted as well? it makes me afraid to install that 2nd m.2 into the new motherboard. i dont want it to have the same problem.

I just installed Callisto on my Z 790 system. It has an RTX 2080 Super and a 3440x1440 monitor @120 Hz.

The first thing the game did was install DirectX. I thought I already had it but maybe not.

The benchmark shows an 82.5 FPS ability and recommends enabling the FSR2 performance mode, whatever that is.

The game seems to run pretty well and I see no hesitation or lag.

I looked at the specs. on your motherboard and it does say it is compatible with the 13th gen processor but the manual gives no M.2 slot preferences based on that processor.

I am going to use the Bios version of a memory tester to see what it shows on my system, so we can compare.

I was wondering if you were using the Hyper PCIe card that came with the motherboard for your M.2 drives?

what is interesting is that i was able to play the callisto protocol on this pc with zero issues when it came out, same with the other games i am now having crash instantly on me, like kena: bridge of spirits, or MW2.

the z690-e mobo works with 13th gen processors with the bios update, which is the first thing i did when i built my pc.

My m.2 was in the m.2_2 slot. where i have been using it since with no issues until recently. i have then tried it in every slot and still the same issue.

i am not using the hyper pcie card the mobo came with.

One thing i would like to mention with the DX12/preloaded shaders games is that i tested just spam opening them to see if they would eventually work, specifically Deadspace remastered, kena bridge of spirits, and MW:2.

What i found is that the shaders attempt to load about 1-5% per crash depending on the game. so if i open up lets say, deadspace for the first time, the game would get to the shaders loading section, load about 3% and then crash. i would open the game up again, the shaders start at 3% and go to like 5% and then crash, and so on. I was able to get dead space, kena, and MW2 to work this way, although, the games would crash like 20 times each before hitting 100%. The problem with this is that 1. This isnt a proper fix, and 2. sometimes the games dont just crash, but my entire computer will crash doing this. so this could take hours to do. i tried this a bit with hogwarts, but it would crash my computer so frequently and move so little that its just not worth it.
