Windows 11 doesn't see any wifi networks during the setup process

I was trying to install windows 11 on my new laptop when I reached the next step "Let's connect you to a network" the PC could not find any available networks

even after connecting it directly to an ethernet cable.

So I tough the problem might be caused by the Wireless Lan drivers but when I open the Command Prompt and try to run the drivers the keyboard or mouse won't work (Even after trying with a wireless one too).

I got this issue and here what I did to resolve:

This is the first step to do:

go to your motherboard manufacturer website and down load the LAN driver for motherboard or WiFi driver for your laptop

unzip if needed and copy everything (after unzipped) to a USB thump drive,

Plug the USB drive to a USB port in your machine then do the followings:

  • At Let connect to the network screen,
  • Press Shift + F10: to bring up the CMD window
  • Type exflorer to bring up the file manager:
  • Browe to the location where you have to files in your USB drive
  • Look for a exeutable file (normally install.exe or setup.exe,....)

-Double click on it to run it

That's it, you now can continue with your setup process

    I fully agree, this version 23H2 not connecting to the internet is another one of Microsoft's curve balls that I'm sure Microsoft does on purpose and wants their users to be bamboozled and get confused like in previous window releases, nothing new. You need to keep trying as the cmd will come up, it took me 1 hour to get that dreaded screen up. See this guide here How to bypass internet connection to install Windows 11.     I was able to get my settings open by somehow getting the live captions tab opened but still getting nowhere, command prompt is not opening with shift + F10 nor shift + Fn + F10

    Unfortunately this did not work either. It shows the loading circle as if it's trying to open something but nothing comes up. I have a FnLock so I tried it with and without it turned on but no news 😭

    It astonishes me that any company could allow this much of an inconvenience be a part of their product.

    Note: that the Shift + F10 is NOT the only way to bring up cmd prompt some laptops and desktops like my Acer Swift X you need to press Shift + Fn + F10 to get cmd prompt up, which took me a while to discover as there is no mention of this anywhere on the web😒. Good luck hope this helps all of you out some more.
