How to enable greyed-out Microsoft Vulnerable Driver Blocklist which is shown as Security Alert in Taskbar?

Thank you for the clarification regarding the Microsoft vulnerable driver blocklist. I really appreciate your assistance and will not waste any more time trying to fix the issue.

It is interesting that Microsoft L1 and L2 service did not know the feature was in test mode. Microsoft support said it was a know issue. Very sloppy implementation of the test feature by Microsoft. They should have masked the fields from the Windows GUI and not enabled a desktop icon caution that a Security setting is not functioning properly.

From previous tech support experience with various companies though I noticed its common for the Tech team to roll out changes without notifying the customer facing Support team and leaving them to look like idiots with no clue. Been there before. But still you'd hope for better from Microsoft. You'd think the testing of such a prominent feature would have been kept within the Insider circle until ready to roll out.

Excellent reply. Microsoft is a large organisation and does not care if we leave them or are not happy with their service. They are big, powerful but collectively, we too have power.

I had my first update for 'ages' today called "Update for Windows Security platform antimalware platform - KB5007651 (Version 1.0.2306.10002)" and the greyed out issue has gone!

All appears to be 'fixed' and all indications are now that there are no issues and no action needed is shown against all the security entries.

NOTE: the Vulnerable Driver Blocklist no longer exists as an entry BUT all 'looks' OK and I no longer have a highlighted tick on my Windows Security icon in my task bar.

I first reported this issue via this forum on 9th May but the responses show it has been around for many months.

Am I reassured by Microsoft's responsiveness - not really considering the commented feedback from individuals who had the issue and their own 'feedback/responses" from Microsoft.

Hopefully this is now an end to it.

I will still be thinking about an alternative to Microsoft on my next purchase.

Thanks Perry for letting us know about that update. I checked and see that it was successfully installed on July 5 on my laptop. I still have the Vulnerable Driver Blocklist grayed out under Core Isolation, but, like you, there is no longer a yellow flag on the windows security icon anymore so I am happy about that.

Yes mine is still visible but greyed out like yours under Core isolation.
