I have the same problem. But I did notice this in the Driver Blocklist blurb at Microsoft recommended driver block rules - Windows Security | Microsoft Learn last updated 6th June 2023.

    "Microsoft vulnerable driver blocklist

With Windows 11 2022 update, the vulnerable driver blocklist is enabled by default for all devices, and can be turned on or off via the Windows Security app. Except on Windows Server 2016, the vulnerable driver blocklist is also enforced when either memory integrity (also known as hypervisor-protected code integrity or HVCI), Smart App Control, or S mode is active. Users can opt in to HVCI using the Windows Security app, and HVCI is on by-default for most new Windows 11 devices.

    Note

The Windows Security app is updated separately from the OS and ships out of box. The version with the vulnerable driver blocklist toggle is in the final validation ring and will ship to all customers very soon. Initially, you will be able to view the configuration state only and the toggle will appear greyed out. The ability to turn the toggle on or off will come with a future Windows update*."*

Presumably that means the driver blocklist function is still in testing and not fully rolled out yet hence why it is greyed out. Not a solution but at least an explanation.

Well its good news, BUT I would have thought an email to all subscribers saying that a fault has been identified, a solution should be available within X weeks after extensive testing.

This would show that we are valued as customers, and we have an organisation that updates their clients, because they are valuable, which we are. Just leaving a known issue that causes anxiety to so many with no assistance or even acknowledgement of it is poor service. Microsoft could better I am sure. Engage with your client base would be a good start.

I just purchased a new laptop a few weeks ago and all they do is try to sell me things. Of course they should have advised us of this issue and taken care of it by now. Earlier today I had updates and thought it would be fixed then but alas it was not. Customer service is at all time low in the marketplace.

Old fashioned selling had at its heart a desire to please the customer and win further business down the track. These days it is an unknown issue. Pay your money and next customer please. At 74 you get used to being invisible to staff in shops. My last computer was sold to me, without all I needed or made any attempt to find out what I wanted and needed.

When I contacted Microsoft on the issue previously discussed via their page, as soon as I informed them about the issue, I was pushed on up the line.

Microsoft is big enough to have a section only for Senior customers to assist them. I rarely need help, but have to look at their fact pages that rarely have what I need.

Thinking of getting an Apple computer, heard good reports about them and their service
