My Bluetooth speaker Creative Stage Air 2 suddenly stopped being recognized as an audio by Windows 11, windows 11 will connect it as a Bluetooth device but not as an audio device
I try to disconnect it and reconnect through the system - sound - pair new output device - did not work, it'll connect to Windows but not as an audio device

I have this same issue; have reinstalled drivers so many times - even chatted with MS support last night who got me to do a full Win11 repair and I STILL have the same issue and nobody can tell me why or how to fix it! I can only assume this is a bug in Win11 (the audio device I used to use with no problems on Win10 is a Yamaha amp) and nobody cares
I found a solution which works for me. The situation you guys are facing may be similar with mine.
My system time zone is different from my local area. And I changed to the local zone.
And there is another setting in "Bluetooth & devices". Under "Related settings", there is a "More Bluetooth settings" section. I opened it, and checked "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this PC".
After about seconds later, the bluetooth speaker appeared. After that I unchecked the "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this PC", it still works after I removed the device.
I don't know which part made this worked. Just take a try.
I spent last 3 days looking through the net to find an answer for that... In short - my bluetooth device was connecting to PC, it was visible under Bluetooth devices as connected, with the green dot and all that, but it wasn't listed as an Audio Output device, and it was not possible to "Enable" it in the oldschool audio "playback and input" menu. I have bought new soundbar, because i thought something broke with my previous BT speakers (although those were working absolutely fine with both Android and Apple devices)... Nevertheless, try this:
Go to Settings -> Bluetooth and devices -> (all the way down) More devices and printer setting
Your BT audio output device (soundbar, headphones etc) should be listed there. Right click on it -> Properties -> Hardware tab
In there click on the line which contain "AVRCP" mentioned somewhere within (might need to enlarge column to see it) -> click Properties
In the "general tab" of this new window click -> Change settings
Go to "Driver tab" and choose -> update Driver, then -> Browse my computer for drivers -> Let me pick from a list of available drivers -> AND THEN, choose this exact one -> "Microsoft Bluetooth AVRCP Transport Driver.
Reconnect the device if needed.
It takes around 2 minutes to do all this, hopefully this helps!

Just had the same problem, I just tried going to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Playback.
Realized that my audio device was "Disabled", so I enabled it and it worked. Maybe it's not the solution for everyone, but worked for me.
Yes - this should never be a problem with a software upgrade. I have tried everything. Any bluetooth speaker I try will connect to my laptop immediately. But does not connect as an audio option. only Realtek shows up as the ONLY option. Such a sad situation!!!! Ughhhh....
