Well this was a wild ride. GOOD NEWS..... if you hit CTRL+R...... you get the damn ruler back even without the button! Why they deleted the button, I'll never know. I use the ruler and the protractor DAILY at work -_- I'm an engineer, and drawing on screenshots people shoot me in Teams is like 80% of my life.

SO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MICROSOFT, BRING IT BACK!!!

Now to see if there is a shortcut for the protractor

you can try to install "SnippingTool" with below actions.

Try to get SnippingTool package with WinGet (store must be reachable)

# update winget

winget upgrade winget

# EXAMPLE winget download Calculator -s msstore --skip-license (download with dependencies )

winget download "Snipping Tool" -s msstore --skip-license

# Files will be created in download folder C:\Users$USERNAME\Downloads ( with package ID )

# to install the Package app on another device, example to Add-AppxPackage -Path C:\Users$USERNAME\downloads\9WZDNCRFHVN5\Calculator.appx

Snipping Tool ( check download folder to get .MSIX package )
