download Snip and Sketch in Windows 11

I can't seem to find this. It didn't work on my initial install of Windows 11 and it was then deleted and I can't find where to reinstall. thanks.

    Well this was a wild ride. GOOD NEWS..... if you hit CTRL+R...... you get the damn ruler back even without the button! Why they deleted the button, I'll never know. I use the ruler and the protractor DAILY at work -_- I'm an engineer, and drawing on screenshots people shoot me in Teams is like 80% of my life.

    SO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MICROSOFT, BRING IT BACK!!!

    Now to see if there is a shortcut for the protractor

    Hi G. Gallo, I'm Rooster, with Not-Microsoft! And I'm glad you asked the question about Notepad! Guess what? Were Improving Notepad with NEW Microsoft Notepad ++Plus! We took the best of the best, Notepad ++, and added a 'Plus' to it! Then we stripped out all the features you once enjoyed and made it almost as functional as a word processor from 1987! We really hope you enjoy the NEW Microsoft Notepad ++Plus, and if you ever have suggestions on improvements, features, or bugs... Keep them to yourself, because we don't really care.

    Here is my contribution to the long list of complains:

    1. Snipping Tool uses a dumb, hard coded Capture.xxx file name which forces you to edit it before saving several images to the same folder. Snip and Sketch appended date and time to your screen captures. You rename it if you want, but otherwise they are saved in an ordered sequence.
    2. Snip and Sketch remembered your root file name and target folder between sessions.
    3. The handy keyboard shortcut Windows Key + Shift + S that I use frequently still works with the four capture modes, window, rectangle, freeform, and whole screen, but the captured image remains in the clipboard instead of opening it Snipping Tool as it did with Snipp and Sketch. That means that you must open another app like Paint and manually past it there. It doesn't past in Snipping Tool in case you want to annotate the image.

    Also, don't look for WORDPAD as a target to paste the capture. Did anybody notice that itis also missing? that was a sure bet when documenting something on a customer computer in a neutral RTF file format, safe to email.

    It seems that Microsoft removed tools that has been there for ever to make room for garbage that nobody needs or wants. What will be the next casualty in Windows 12?, Notepad?

    The ruler is there. Once you take a screenshot, select the ellipsis and select Show ruler or use Ctrl + R.
