You did not read the request properly. They asked to move the task bar to the left side of the screen, which is now impossible in Windows 11. Thank you morons at Microsoft. Your procedure simply ALIGNS the contents of the task bar either center of left WITHIN the task bar, which is FIXED in position to the bottom of the display.

In Win10, the task bar could be positioned on the left side (left edge) of display.

Absolutely ridiculous this option was removed. Trying to force the Apple/MAC appearance on us.

Isn't that typical? Microsoft has brainwashed all its trained army of sycophants to steer questions only into what Microsoft has allowed in its new cram down our throats presumed improved customer experience. Any normal person could see that the question is how do we get rid of MS's required placing of the taskbar on the bottom of the desktop screen. In Windows 10 we could easily drag the taskbar to place it where ever we wanted - to the left of the screen in a vertical position, to the right of the screen in a vertical position, or to the top of the screen in a horizontal position. Clearly, we had more options than MS now decides to give us. In almost every way that matters for improved customer experience, MS has taken away many thousands of features that we used to have before in 10.

That's not even to say that 10 wasn't also filled with cram down our throats reduced unimproved customer experience even in 10. One great example is their continued bundling of applications that we don't want. Just as they tried to put competition our of business with their bundling of Internet Explorer (when Netscape was clearly and obviously a far superior product), they are still bundling and extending their anti-competitive exercise of monopoly power. We can't get rid of Edge. They've created a bunch of situations in which regardless of what you choose as your default browser, when you click on any link for help or on any Microsoft website, Edge will open, along with their cram down annoying Bing search engine. You simply cannot get rid of Edge or Bing. In the installed apps it is clear that you cannot get rid of Edge. It is tightly bundled with the OS.

In the default apps settings section, it is also clear that they now do not permit you to search your computer or the internet for any application you choose (for example an ftp program like FileZilla). The only option they give you is to go to their Store, where they have no apps whatsoever. Try to find Google Maps there. That's another cram down bundle they have arbitrarily bundled - their Maps.

If you want to do anything, you're forced to search for hacking of the registry. You can find such hacks to get back the features of moving the taskbar where you want it. Unfortunately, often a lot of these hacks come from India, with terrible YouTube explanations on how to do the edit. Be very careful, always back up your registry before you try any edits. I'm working on that moving of the taskbar back to where I put it in Windows 10, where I was then very happy with my real improved customer experience, not the propaganda one they're falsely claiming.

Every single reply on this question is absolutely correct. This has been another in a very large number of totally pathetic changes.

I have the Pro version, and it is just as bad. You can't change anything. They've made Windows 11 terribly worse.

The only thing I can see that is an improvement is its behind the scenes management of the many cores in the newer cpus. Improved customer experience? A BIG FAT ZERO.
