2023-05-30T16:03:52+00:00 I just had a chat with Amazon customer service and learned that the app was removed from the Microsoft store on 3/30/23. I suggested that Amazon should host the app and the customer service person agreed and said that he would submit the request. I would suggest contacting Amazon and making the request also. Maybe if they get bombarded they will pay attention. BTW, the agent I spoke to was "Adam." If you get someone else and they do not tell you they will submit the suggestion, perhaps report the person as not doing their job and keep trying until you get someone responsive.

2023-05-30T17:02:06+00:00 I can tell you what exactly happened.
The alexa app was designed by AMZN Mobile --- for Windows 10 mobile phones --- but it happened to coincidentally can be installed on windows 10 PC. You can see some apps (such as Dolby Access) on Microsoft Store is available for PC and XBox's as well.
But Microsoft killed the Windows 10 mobile phones in 2017 and the last Alexa app update by AMZN Mobile was in 2018.
It is also the reason why Microsoft killed off Cortana's consumer skills functions in 2020 --- because when they started making Cortana, they were still trying to make windows 10 mobile phones, Then they killed the windows 10 mobile phone.
It is really as simple as that --- not some global conspiracy.

As evidenced by the threads it would be nice if they would support a pc version of Alexa. Ok I’m old and I prefer a big screen and a keyboard.

Completely agree. I'm in the same boat, and I'd much rather type than "peck." Not only that just about every merchant and restaurant and bank, etc. insist that you download and use their app. After you download so many your phone gets full and the apps run very s---l---o---w, to the point you have to start deleting your photos and some apps just to keep it semi-functional (unless you want to upgrade your phone to the latest and greatest -- which I don't care to do since I only use it when I have to outside of calls and short texts. I think the (mostly) young developers forget that not everyone is married to their phone and they are likely alienating a substantial portion of the population by ignoring those of us who prefer using PCs. That's why I suggested bugging Amazon support. They say the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and since the app is already developed, they would have to do very little outside of hosting it and making a link available.
