All drivers are freshly installed and up to date. Graphics card is barely a year old and all cables also checked. The monitor thats not detected does work also.

Everything worked until 2days ago when windows updated and now windows does not detect the second display.

Please help thank you.

Hello ScrP, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

I understand that after an update the second monitor is not detected;

What exactly is the model and manufacturer of your graphics card?

Are you using an HDMI cable to connect the second monitor?

Are you using a laptop or desktop?

Before answering the question, I suggest you try to force the detection of the second monitor;

Press Windows key + i and go to System;

Click Display;

Scroll down to Multiple screens, click Detect;

Then press the keys together: Windows key + P and select the Extend option;

Verify that the second monitor is detected;

See you soon!

    I have a second monitor that mirrors just fine. When I try to change the settings to extend, there is not a box to change those settings. I have a HDMI splitter. It also does not detect another monitor. But I can only use them as a mirrored screen. I have updated the PC.

    Hi

    This occurred to me today.

    I shut down this afternoon and went out. When I came back home, Windows is not sending a signal to the external monitor.

    There was no auto-update as I was shutting down this afternoon.

    My Setup.

    Lenovo YOGA Laptop with Intel iRISxe Graphics

    External Screen Dell 24"

    Out of laptop via USB-C. Into the Screen using HDMI.

    The screen detects the HDMI cable and says there is no signal.

    The laptop doesn't detect the external device.

    I have tried everything you suggested above - including Windows+P, and click extend. Doesn't work.

    Have removed the graphics card and reinstalled the graphics card. What else can I do?
