All drivers are freshly installed and up to date. Graphics card is barely a year old and all cables also checked. The monitor thats not detected does work also.

Everything worked until 2days ago when windows updated and now windows does not detect the second display.

Please help thank you.

Hello ScrP, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

I understand that after an update the second monitor is not detected;

What exactly is the model and manufacturer of your graphics card?

Are you using an HDMI cable to connect the second monitor?

Are you using a laptop or desktop?

Before answering the question, I suggest you try to force the detection of the second monitor;

Press Windows key + i and go to System;

Click Display;

Scroll down to Multiple screens, click Detect;

Then press the keys together: Windows key + P and select the Extend option;

Verify that the second monitor is detected;

See you soon!

    My 2 iiyama 27" monitors are suddenly no longer connected to my HP ZBook Fury 16 G9. Only my laptop screen worked. All cables were good and that was not the problem. I use a Startech.com USB hub and in it are the two DisplayPort cables that are connected to monitors and the USB hub is connected to a USB C lightning cable on my laptop.

    I did not find a working solution on the internet and in desperation I called HP because I still had a service-support contract.

    Fortunately, the English-speaking support employee from HP knew the solution.

    I had to turn off the laptop and disconnect everything from the laptop. Every cable including the network cable from the internet and also the Logitech USB receivers so that there was nothing left in any port.

    Then I had to hold the on and off button for at least 45 seconds. The light on the on and off button had to be on afterwards, I understood. The HP laptop then started up and when I plugged all the cables back in, my two monitors worked again. This may be HP specific but it may help with other brands as well.
