All drivers are freshly installed and up to date. Graphics card is barely a year old and all cables also checked. The monitor thats not detected does work also.

Everything worked until 2days ago when windows updated and now windows does not detect the second display.

Please help thank you.

Hello ScrP, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

I understand that after an update the second monitor is not detected;

What exactly is the model and manufacturer of your graphics card?

Are you using an HDMI cable to connect the second monitor?

Are you using a laptop or desktop?

Before answering the question, I suggest you try to force the detection of the second monitor;

Press Windows key + i and go to System;

Click Display;

Scroll down to Multiple screens, click Detect;

Then press the keys together: Windows key + P and select the Extend option;

Verify that the second monitor is detected;

See you soon!

    I might have found the issue. Although it doesnt explain the timing with update.

    What are the chances of the Display port to Hdmi adapter to just break? I plugged out all the monitors and plugged the main monitor via HMDI and worked , but as soon as i plugged the adapter to display port its not working. (What are the chances that its the display port on the graphics card itself vs the adapter?)

    Same for me. Display and external mouse/keyboard both stopped working at the reboot of the windows update. The display adapter is burning hot and smells like burned PCB.

    I wonder if this is related to the update. Super strange coincidence otherwise.

    My second monitor is not detected by windows.They used to be connected until I had to disconnect them and take my desktop to check for a possible fix which was not needed. Once back home, I plugged the cable that connects the 2 monitors, when to Display, multiple displays, detect, and I get the answer: no second monitor detected. I tried to download this: https://www.amd.com/en/support, which was recommended in this message trail, but after clicking on the download, there is a message that it cannot be finalized. I already restarted my computer. In You Tube I read that I could go to Device Manager, adapters, and then update, under properties it says 2019. What else can I do? Thank you,
