do ctrl, alt, delete and at the right bottom click immediately RESTART.

recently my windows 11 PC has been showing a black screen after i login. i can still use my cursor, and i can use Ctrl Alt Del to open task manager, but it isn’t very useful as it just closes immediately. i have tried many troubleshooting steps, such as starting in safe mode and editing the bios, among others. but, no matter what i try, nothing works.
i have a prebuilt CyberpowerPC C-series gaming PC from 2019, with an AMD ryzen 5 5600 series CPU, a Gigabyte B450M motherboard, and an AMD geforce RX graphics card ( i do not know the exact model number ). I have made no hardware modifications to the PC.

2024-12-06T00:07:07+00:00 The black screen with the cursor happened to me 3 times. (only on Win 11, my Win 10 is fine). Two times I was able to restore to an earlier restore point. There was/is nothing wrong with my system, SSD....... it is the Windows update. The 3rd time this happened, it would not let me restore to an earlier restore point. So, I ended up having to reset my laptop, basically starting from scratch. Thankfully, I am vigilant in doing back-ups. This is SO ridiculous of Microsoft to not have this fixed. As a result, I no longer do automatic Windows/Microsoft update for anything. You can Google how to to turn off automatic Windows updates, as many others are experiencing the same issue. Unbelievable.

I am surprised that Microsoft hasn't noticed and fixed the issue already.
