windows 11 black screen after login

recently my windows 11 PC has been showing a black screen after i login. i can still use my cursor, and i can use Ctrl Alt Del to open task manager, but it isn’t very useful as it just closes immediately. i have tried many troubleshooting steps, such as starting in safe mode and editing the bios, among others. but, no matter what i try, nothing works.

i have a prebuilt CyberpowerPC C-series gaming PC from 2019, with an AMD ryzen 5 5600 series CPU, a Gigabyte B450M motherboard, and an AMD geforce RX graphics card ( i do not know the exact model number ). I have made no hardware modifications to the PC.

that's about the same for me.
right now (and im meaning in the last 30 mins.) i installed a program called voicemeter. to give myself a digital audio cable, yeah it asked me to restart my computer to make sure everything is running right. after doing that i fall into the same problem.
yeah i have my window's updates turned off now so i can wait till next month for an new update to see if they fixed it then. kinda bothered that i may have to just keep making new restore points (tho i don't really know how. since i don't know where to look.)

tho i don't think voicemeter is the problem here. it can be at the least a suspect.

I am having the same problem myself. only with the most recent update of windows.
nothing seems to load in just a black screen with my mouse floating around. ive tryed restarting "windows explorer" from the task manager to it going away and nothing happening.

Ive spent time with a friend trying to figure out what was happening as he suggested running " SFC /scannow " in the cmd window. that lead to it saying some files where in need of fixing. i don't know if i can get those log's now.

help here may lead to an explanation to what might be happening.

The only way that i have been able to get my computer running again was restoring it back to just before the update was even installed.

hold down shift while clicking the system restart to get myself into the options to do so. getting kind of annoying and bothersom.

since it may help i have a pre-built starforge sentinel PC.

i have the same problem. Windows auto update installed something between december 18 and 19 on my computer

and suddenly after my next PC start and login, there was no desktop anymore, just a black image.

I can open the task manager but thats it. Theres no search bar or start menu or anything. The Windows repair tool for the startup services

    didnt find any problems.

Device manager doesnt show any problems. SSD health is at 100%.

The only way to get my PC working again, was Windows recovery and then going back to a earlier december date.

Then everything loaded up normally, no problems at all. But i had to pause the Win updates because whatever its trying to install,

would kill my Windows again after a restart. So now i dont know what to do about Windows update
