FSX API.dll

Hi,

Lately my Microsoft Flight Simulator X has been crashing with API.dll as the faulting module.

This is probably caused by a Windows update dating back from April.

There is absolutely nothing one can do to fix this, unless rolling back the update is possible, which it isn't.

The update that's causing the crashes is most likely "KB5025221".

What can I do?

    Hello again everyone, I solved the problem but only by formatting Windows... unfortunately it's the last thing I wanted to do but only by doing a clean reinstallation of Windows (formatting) I managed to restart FSX. I missed some programs I needed but at least Now I'm flying again...FINALLY! I hope that you too are able to remedy this error, perhaps by not FORMATTING the PC...! I wish you the best.

    HI, I have just uninstalled ALL the windows updates, the oldest I uninstalled is KB4570334 dated 09/27/2020 (I have only had my computer for 2 years) but OBVIOUSLY nothing to do..... I'm out of energy!

    lucky you who launched it and it works!!! my FSX crashes all the time as soon as I open it! I can run it 100 times in a row and it always crashes with API.dll I uninstalled ALL the addons I had but nothing...

    Hi

    For me always fax error with api.dll

    When :

    I Connect simtiolkitpro since version 1.2.1

    I use pmdg b777,b737,b747 and Md11

    After crash with simtoolkitpro I relaunch fax and no api.dll crash when I use carenado’s planes and aéroport a320 and md80 maddog.

    Please Microsoft do a fiix

    very true Jessyde,
    it's really frustrating, I'm going crazy, I'm trying everything but nothing to do! Only the desire to "fly" again makes me keep trying but I'm about to give up.....
    :(
