i want to know if to use onedrive you have to manually upload files by the upload button or does onedrive upload files automatically without you knowing

i have got private videos on my computer which i have deleted and i have lost the account that i have my onedrive on but i don’t really need that account but half of my family use my computer for work and i want to know if onedrive automatically uploads file onto onedrive without me knowing because the private videos i have deleted of my Videos file on my file explorer and i forgot my email and password for that onedrive account so i don’t know if them private videos are uploaded without me wanting them there or do you have to manually do it?

    Hi Przemyslaw,

    I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    If you have the OneDrive app installed on your PC, that will automatically sync the contents of your Desktop, Documents and Pictures folders to the cloud automatically, no other folders are synced, unless you added them yourself.

    If you refer to O365 and its OneDrive component;

    OneDrive is not a backup, it’s a cloud location of your data.

    The default installation of Office 365 and its OneDrive component uploads all the contents of the PC  \My Documents\ folders to OneDrive, (syncs) and there will be a OneDrive folder in File Explorer containing all the OneDrive content. And in Word etc the default Save location is set to OneDrive.

    No Docs/data is stored on the local PC

    The OneDrive included in win only has a 5gb capacity and nothing is added to it unless done by the user
