Hi, I'm using my desktop PC as a makeshift router due to my current cirucmstances.
I have an issue with the hotspot randomly turning off, despite my phone being connected to it. I can't seem to figure out a proper reason for this. I've seen many tutorials but they all mention the standard solution of turning off power saving, then disallowing the PC to turn off the device in device manager, but none have worked. The PC doesn't lose internet connection, is still running and has a device connected, but it still randomly shuts off the hotspot.
Another question would be if there were any way to keep the mobile hotspot always on? As in, have the hotspot turn itself on after wake from sleep, hibernation or shut down. Theoretically I could have a batch script turn it on, but I think that only applies to starting from shutdown, not the other 2 sleep states.
My PC is currently running windows 10 build 19045. The motherboard has wifi built in, but I also have an external wifi dongle attached to the two ports on the back.

I also think there might be some correlation with your school's network. Additionally, they may have configured limitations or restrictions on your network. As I told you previously, these tests should be repeated on a different network or a home network.
I just tried that, and instantly lost internet connection on my PC.
Could it have something to do that it's a network provided by my school? (I'm in a dormitory)
But have you set the DNS on your PC or mobile device?
If you have set the DNS on your mobile device, the school network has nothing to do with it.
However, you had to specify immediately that you are connected to a school network, so this means that there is a router while in a previous post you had said that you had no router.

I'm not sure how the school network works, my bad. I should've mentioned it. All I got is a ethernet port in the wall of my dorm room (no wifi provided), and I plugged into that with my PC. I'm using my PC to hotspot the internet to my other devices in the dorm room as I don't have a router.
In fact you were wrong. I wrote that you have to set the DNS that I indicated to you on your device and not on your PC.
