Hi, I'm using my desktop PC as a makeshift router due to my current cirucmstances.
I have an issue with the hotspot randomly turning off, despite my phone being connected to it. I can't seem to figure out a proper reason for this. I've seen many tutorials but they all mention the standard solution of turning off power saving, then disallowing the PC to turn off the device in device manager, but none have worked. The PC doesn't lose internet connection, is still running and has a device connected, but it still randomly shuts off the hotspot.
Another question would be if there were any way to keep the mobile hotspot always on? As in, have the hotspot turn itself on after wake from sleep, hibernation or shut down. Theoretically I could have a batch script turn it on, but I think that only applies to starting from shutdown, not the other 2 sleep states.
My PC is currently running windows 10 build 19045. The motherboard has wifi built in, but I also have an external wifi dongle attached to the two ports on the back.

I also think there might be some correlation with your school's network. Additionally, they may have configured limitations or restrictions on your network. As I told you previously, these tests should be repeated on a different network or a home network.

Go to the mobile hotspot settings page and try selecting the 2.4 GHz band or select any available band. Try connecting to the hotspot again.
If the problem persists, go to your phone or iPad's settings and try disabling Power Saver or power the device via an electrical power source and see if the situation improves.

the internet just disconnected and I found my hotspot randomly turned off while I was using my phone and the internet (my PC was still running and logged on)
You may need to update your wireless network card driver.
Note the current WiFi driver version, go to the support and drivers area of your motherboard manufacturer, see if a newer driver version is available for the Intel(R) WiFi 6 AX201 160MHz WiFi adapter. Furthermore, also check if updated drivers for the Chipset are available.

I'm not sure if my drivers were outdated, but I installed the newest ones directly from the mobo's website.
I'll drop an update once I do some testing.
