Hi, I'm using my desktop PC as a makeshift router due to my current cirucmstances.
I have an issue with the hotspot randomly turning off, despite my phone being connected to it. I can't seem to figure out a proper reason for this. I've seen many tutorials but they all mention the standard solution of turning off power saving, then disallowing the PC to turn off the device in device manager, but none have worked. The PC doesn't lose internet connection, is still running and has a device connected, but it still randomly shuts off the hotspot.
Another question would be if there were any way to keep the mobile hotspot always on? As in, have the hotspot turn itself on after wake from sleep, hibernation or shut down. Theoretically I could have a batch script turn it on, but I think that only applies to starting from shutdown, not the other 2 sleep states.
My PC is currently running windows 10 build 19045. The motherboard has wifi built in, but I also have an external wifi dongle attached to the two ports on the back.

I also think there might be some correlation with your school's network. Additionally, they may have configured limitations or restrictions on your network. As I told you previously, these tests should be repeated on a different network or a home network.

It seems like my phone is now in a constant state of claiming there is no internet connection, all the while websites load completely normally. Never seen this behavior before. Still, it's working, and that's all that really matters. Thank you for all the help, and apologies for my stupidity up until this point.
If you have an Android phone or Windows laptop, connect to the hotspot and see if you get the same error message.
Don't worry about the rest, the important thing is that it's working somehow now.
Alright it seems like everything has gone back...
I lost connection on my phone multiple times this morning, having to turn wifi off and on again to regain connection.
I'm running tests using my windows laptop.
But was the mobile hotspot always on?
