Keep mobile hotspot always on

Hi, I'm using my desktop PC as a makeshift router due to my current cirucmstances.

I have an issue with the hotspot randomly turning off, despite my phone being connected to it. I can't seem to figure out a proper reason for this. I've seen many tutorials but they all mention the standard solution of turning off power saving, then disallowing the PC to turn off the device in device manager, but none have worked. The PC doesn't lose internet connection, is still running and has a device connected, but it still randomly shuts off the hotspot.

Another question would be if there were any way to keep the mobile hotspot always on? As in, have the hotspot turn itself on after wake from sleep, hibernation or shut down. Theoretically I could have a batch script turn it on, but I think that only applies to starting from shutdown, not the other 2 sleep states.

My PC is currently running windows 10 build 19045. The motherboard has wifi built in, but I also have an external wifi dongle attached to the two ports on the back.

Oh yes,FreSch_Dude, speaking of the devil then the horns appear...

I also think there might be some correlation with your school's network. Additionally, they may have configured limitations or restrictions on your network. As I told you previously, these tests should be repeated on a different network or a home network.

    Does this happen even if your device stays close to the PC?

    When you get the error, "connected without Internet", open CMD on your PC and type ipconfig /all Copy everything and post the result.

    the connection stays on, hasn't turned off. Even though my phone is connected to the hotspot, windows reports as 0/8 connected, which is weird.

    From time to time, my phone reports "connected without internet", and I have to cycle my internet off and on, and reconnect again to resolve the issue.
    Besides that, the main concern of the internet hotspot turning off on its own has been resolved, thanks.

    Would you know about the other smaller matters? Or would that issue lie with the device itself?
    I'm gonna do some more testing with other devices.
