Hi, I'm using my desktop PC as a makeshift router due to my current cirucmstances.
I have an issue with the hotspot randomly turning off, despite my phone being connected to it. I can't seem to figure out a proper reason for this. I've seen many tutorials but they all mention the standard solution of turning off power saving, then disallowing the PC to turn off the device in device manager, but none have worked. The PC doesn't lose internet connection, is still running and has a device connected, but it still randomly shuts off the hotspot.
Another question would be if there were any way to keep the mobile hotspot always on? As in, have the hotspot turn itself on after wake from sleep, hibernation or shut down. Theoretically I could have a batch script turn it on, but I think that only applies to starting from shutdown, not the other 2 sleep states.
My PC is currently running windows 10 build 19045. The motherboard has wifi built in, but I also have an external wifi dongle attached to the two ports on the back.

I also think there might be some correlation with your school's network. Additionally, they may have configured limitations or restrictions on your network. As I told you previously, these tests should be repeated on a different network or a home network.

The message "connected, no internet" on Android phones generally appears when the phone is running on battery power or if Power Saving is enabled on the phone. Try powering your phone from an electricity source or disable Power Saver.

In my opinion you are confusing... What does Android have to do with it if your phone doesn't run Android but runs Apple's iOS? In any case, if with the laptop the connection to the mobile hotspot always remains stable and with the iPhone it does not, it is not a Windows problem but an Apple one. Contact Apple Support.
I've been letting my laptop run with a youtube livestream in the background for the whole day and there were no interruptions. No mention of "connected with no intnernet". I'd assume the connection issue lies with android then...
But that would mean specifically android and Windows hotspot has an issue, because I don't experience this disconnection with the school wifi once I'm on campus.
the "connected with no internet" shows up on my android phone once I set my IP to "static", the only way to set the DNS. (where despite the warning the wifi still works fine, mind you). If I set it to auto, the "connected with no internet" warning disappears.
