Hi, I'm using my desktop PC as a makeshift router due to my current cirucmstances.
I have an issue with the hotspot randomly turning off, despite my phone being connected to it. I can't seem to figure out a proper reason for this. I've seen many tutorials but they all mention the standard solution of turning off power saving, then disallowing the PC to turn off the device in device manager, but none have worked. The PC doesn't lose internet connection, is still running and has a device connected, but it still randomly shuts off the hotspot.
Another question would be if there were any way to keep the mobile hotspot always on? As in, have the hotspot turn itself on after wake from sleep, hibernation or shut down. Theoretically I could have a batch script turn it on, but I think that only applies to starting from shutdown, not the other 2 sleep states.
My PC is currently running windows 10 build 19045. The motherboard has wifi built in, but I also have an external wifi dongle attached to the two ports on the back.

I also think there might be some correlation with your school's network. Additionally, they may have configured limitations or restrictions on your network. As I told you previously, these tests should be repeated on a different network or a home network.
Return to Device Manager, go to hidden devices, right-click on both WiFi Direct virtual adapters, then click on Properties, click on the Energy Saver tab, uncheck the check box: Allow the computer to turn off the device to save energy on both virtual adapters.
Try again.
reinstalled the virtual adapters, the hotspot still randomly turns itself off.
Go to Device Manager, expand network adapters, click on View at the top of the bar > Show hidden devices, uninstall both Microsoft WiFi Direct Virtual Adapters and then restart your computer. Windows will automatically reinstall the virtual adapters with the appropriate drivers.
Repeat the test.
I have mobile data turned off when connected to wifi, so it's not possible for it to have been using that. (I personally watch a lot of videos so it'd be bad if I accidentally used mobile data)
I've run the test and there is no difference besides what I mentioned earlier where without the antenna the connection is very weak.
I don't have any antivirus besides windows defender, which comes preinstalled.
