"Efficiency Mode" to OFF

Settings to maximize performance.

Opened Edge with 9 tabs, used for 15 minutes (every tab)

19 tabs and processes in "Efficiency Mode"

Types question

30 tabs and processes in "Efficiency Mode"

Windows STOPPED

Unable to change tabs or programs

The (anti) efficiency mode is severely disrupting system performance.

WHY?

How do I STOP this?

    Hi Carr Taliaferro,

    We are swimming in the sand, this problem occurs with all applications in Windows 11, not just browsers, I appreciate your attention to this issue but the problem is chronic, with the energy saving objective created by Microsoft we are being harmed with the performance of applications in general, it is not enough to create shortcuts, after all, if a new installation is necessary we will have to do it all over again, this is a disregard for the user by not allowing this deactivation permanently in Windows, I hope that was clear, there is no point in paleative solutions ...

    I found what appears to be a "hack" somewhere on the internet. It requires starting Chrome form a Desktop Shortcut, not the toolbar or Start menu. The infection seems to be only on browsers, not other applications. To start Chrome, I now use the shortcut (edit under the shortcut's "Properties"):

    "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-features=UseEcoQoSForBackgroundProcess

    Now there are no processes falling into "efficiency mode" once we disable Microsoft's QoS algorithm.... Where's the emoji for "rollling your eyes"....

    Hello Robert Raio,

    Thank you for your attention, but your solution is a palliative, by activating the performance mode the processor core works at maximum frequency and we don't want to damage it right!, we need a definitive solution using it in balanced mode and allowing the deactivation of this absurd feature in the manager of tasks, otherwise I will be compromising my equipment and having the hassle of activating and deactivating the power mode several times, think a little with me please...

    solve the problem in a definitive and non-paleative way...

    Go into your system power settings and change the power mode to best performance. By default it's set to "Balanced" which does enable a bunch of efficient settings. I was having this problem on my new machine in windows 11 also. Turned this off and my computer is back to full performance like it was before in Win 10. Hope this helps bro!
