New system

"Efficiency Mode" to OFF

Settings to maximize performance.

Opened Edge with 9 tabs, used for 15 minutes (every tab)

19 tabs and processes in "Efficiency Mode"

Types question

30 tabs and processes in "Efficiency Mode"

Windows STOPPED

Unable to change tabs or programs

The (anti) efficiency mode is severely disrupting system performance.

WHY?

How do I STOP this?

    I feel like we're being undervalued, i don't like being treated like this. Do you think im homeless? do you think im going to be drooling outside of your facilities? Let me know when you can change the size of the taskbar, im switching to Linux

    Windows does not have a switch to turn off efficiency mode. This is by design.

    That being said, you can turn off Edge's efficiency mode at the following page:

    edge://settings/system

    Congratulation to Microsoft on that one , that is probably the biggest Pranks they never did. ENTREPRISE VERSION
    SHOULD NOT INTEGRATE FEATURE THAT SIMPLY DOESNT WORK.

    i am so slowdown doing my work with barely 3-4 windows open on 32 gig of ram 13th gen pc ... In contrast a VM windows 10 ,8 gig of ram with 2 core allocated on a 6th gen pc allow me to do much faster my work just because of that STUPID FEATURELESS garbage. Even an Usb Bootable Windows 10 still run my new laptop better than your current os.

    FOR WHICH REASON WOULD THE DESIGN NOT ALLOWING TO SHUTDOWN A ''FEATURE''.
    IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO PROGRAM FEATURES YOU SHOULD NOT DO SO.....

    NOT ONLY THEY GOING TO FORCE YOU TO USE THEIR WORST OS CREATED SINCE MICROSOFT EXISTANCE, THEY GOING TO REMOVE THE FEATURES THAT WORKS TO REPLACE IT WITH INTERFACE THAT DOESNT .... BLATTANT HILARIOUS...

    AT THIS POINT I BELIEVE WINDOWS 8 IS AN UPGRADE TO WINDOWS 11 ....

    what makes me laugh the hardest about this "feature" is that Windows is currently the biggest gaming platform, and Microsoft want to do EVERYTHING they can to stop that!

    go into Settings and it suggests that you limit your refresh rate to 60Hz... that's right, they want GAMERS to drop from 150-200 FPS to 60, is that so that it looks the same as the consoles?

    I've got a tower with an i5, 64GB RAM, about 12tb SSD, and when I'm trying to run things they start to stutter - the GPU management software is suddenly in "effeciency mode" and my screen starts jittering - my second display with a browser open freezes every 15-20 seconds because all of the tabs are in "effeciency mode"

    the only thing thiis will be efficient in is driving users to Apple or Linux!

    GIVE US THE OPTION TO DISABLE IT!!!
