After trying many of the suggestions here, including a network reset, I found an optional Lenovo firmware update under the Windows optional updates. After the firmware update, wifi is restored.
Plugging into a wired network connection with a USB to network adapter and restarting reestablished internet connectivity. Running Windows Update and installing the 2023-10 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5031455) did not resolve the issue. It appears that the wireless network adapter is gone.
It happened tonight with my Lenovo with a Windows update. Thanks Microsoft!
I am having the same issue for an ASUS Zenbook.
I've even reinstalled the asus drivers over a flash drive. I can't connect to wifi and network&internet tests say "You're connected using a virtual network adapter that we can't test".
How can I fix? Attached is my device manager.
