Same deal. HP Pavilion x360. Bought new a few weeks ago. Worked just fine until today. Tried resetting network. Nothing.

I have a further issue as well, being that I cannot plug in an adapter cable as I do not have an rj-45 jack.

    ***EDIT***

I was able to fix this issue by buying a usb wireless adapter, download the newest updates and then it worked on its own. So now I have a usb adapter that I don't really need. but at least the computer works now, thanks MS for breaking **** needlessly

I am also having a problem with this situation. I am using the HP Envy x360 Convertible, however, I have tried all the suggestions I can see here, I have gotten the newest drivers, I have reset the connection, I have rebooted the PC, I have trouble shot the windows update. None of these are working and still that same virtual device that it cannot test. Are there any other suggestions please?

    Hi nancy berry,

Specify the exact model of your computer or type msinfo in the search box and publish the System specifications.

Go to Device Manager, expand network adapters, post a screenshot, also attach a screenshot of the Network Connections.
