This is not correct. I just checked for updates, and there were none available. The option to "never combine" windows on the taskbar is still missing. Hopefully this helpful option gets restored soon.
Can't un-combine taskbar items in Windows 11 after latest update
My system just did the lastest windows 11 update and all my tasbar items have been combined. When I go into taskbar behaviours to uncheck the option, the option does not exist? I tried searching settings and nothing appears. What can I do?

What OS build and version are you on? Are you on the insider channel? It's still slightly buggy, for example instead of showing "Microsoft Edge" when I am on this discussion, it says "Can't un-combine taskb" and then cuts off. This is consistent across several apps. I'm on Enterprise Build 22631.2199. Here's the article with the changlog for my build Announcing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22621.2199 and 22631.2199 (Beta Channel) | Windows Insider Blog. However, if you aren't on the insider build you likely won't see the feature yet.

2023-08-22T16:27:02+00:00 Uhhh some folks do have the option as well as myself. However, there is no change to the interface upon switching through the options. I'm understanding you don't have these options but the statements we've made are not incorrect.

2023-08-22T16:41:45+00:00 I am limited in my ability to use experimental or preliminary builds or versions of Windows, as such matters are controlled by my organization's system administrator. I am mainly annoyed for the step backwards in user options and functionality and want to see this popular option restored asap in future updates. It sounds like that may be in the works, which is great news.

2023-08-22T16:46:09+00:00 Frankly, if the option/setting is not available to the mainstream users that are utilizing the most recent update vs. beta testers or those using some older version, then the option/setting is generally not available. However, I am glad to hear that it is being tested to be restored right now, and it sounds like it will be part of an imminent update.
