Starfield error code 0xc000001d

Everytime I launch Starfield I get the error code 0xc00001d. Is there anyway to fix this? I've already reinstalled the game and don't know what to do know. Please help!

    Yes, , I did end up buying it AGAIN via Steam. (just don't tell my wife..). I couldn't even get a refund for the D/L on the xbox app because my son wants it for his XBox. So yeah.. Bought it twice.

    Thanks for your information. I just have a quick question. You said downloaded the game on Steam. Does this mean you purchased the game again on Steam after already buying the game on Xbox app. Or were you able to use the same license, how does it work?

    Hi everyone!

    I fixed this issue by going to the BIOS and enabling the AVX feature. It seems that my AVX feature was disable by default. Why don't you try this?

    I want to say Thank You for coming back into this topic and sharing your fix with all of us. You put a definition to the very unfriendly and unintuitive "Error Code 0xc000001d" message. 🤜🤛

    It would have been really nice if Bethesda/XBOX/Microsoft would have expanded the error message with a short description of the cause. Even a snarky message like:

    "Error Code 0xc000001d" "Sorry you spent all that time downloading our new game. You know as well as we do, your 14 year old Alienware should have been retired when Windows 11 was released!"

    Yes, my CPU is 14 years old!

    Starfield is the only game that has refused to run on it, so far!

    I knew Starfield would likely not run, had to try it tho, since I'm already a Game Pass subscriber. A new computer is in my future, not a priority right now tho.

    PC gamer since before Windows 95 was released on 13 floppy discs!

    I was likely the first person in my small town to buy a 3Dfx VooDoo Banshee video card back when dirt was young!

    Hey all.

    So, after poking around in BIOS trying this that and the other thing to clear these errors, I finally did something that I couldn't fix and broke my 'puter Sunday, which.. required me to take it in for repair. While there, I explained the crash issues we have all been experiencing and.. he fixed it for me.

    Turns out, Using the XBox app to d/l to PC is the culprit. We downloaded via Steam and, voila, problem solved.

    BTW, most modern CPU's have AVX on by default with no option to turn on/off. (Per my new friend the IT guy)
