I hate the new Alt+Tab behavior so much! While working with multi-window Edge, Alt+Tab chooses just a random window. I WANT TO SWITCH JUST BETWEEN THE TWO LAST WINDOWS!

Hi all,
One of the most useful shortcuts I use all the time is not working for me on my new laptop with Windows 11. I used to use ALT + TAB to switch between the current window and the last window I used. Now if I use it it switches between the current window and the first open window (not the most recent). How can I get it so it switches between the two most recently used?

I found that though all available windows shows momentarily, if I immediately release tab+alt then it toggles. But there is an unexpected (to me) behavior related to using multiple monitors. When I switch the focus to a different monitor, the toggling does not work on the new monitor unless I first manually select the next window by holding alt and repeatedly clicking tab. Once I manually select the next window on the new monitor, then toggle works as expected on that monitor, but when I go back to the previous monitor, toggle is broken and I have to repeat the manual selection to get toggle working again.
That is quite annoying, but better than having no toggle ability.

2024-10-24T03:58:52+00:00 i found the solution! You MUST leave your Windows Explorer on the first screen only, if you got two monitors. and you must close all other open windows on the 2nd screen. Then on your first screen, make sure only 2 open windows are active to make the switch work.
