How to re-enable the "Expand to Open Folder" option?

That option is also available in the View menu. I tired that through the menu - option/view/navigation pane when it first started happening but that expands everything. That is worse than than the no expanding when you have hundreds of folders

When doing as you tell, I get the result "expand to all folders", that is NOT the same as "expand to open folder" !!

This inconvenience is present for some months now. Latest updates of the Win11-system did not cure the problem so far. I really do hope it will be solved soon !!!

On desktop, right clik, New, Shortcut. Copy this:

C:\Windows\explorer.exe %USERPROFILE%

on the prompt (you can change %USERPROFILE% with any path you prefer, like C:\Users\Giovanni)

the next screen asks for a name of the shortcut. End.

Then you can just drag this new shortcut to the taskbar.

Please note that if you create a shortcut in the standard way (in Explorer, right click on the folder you want to link, Other options, Create shortcut) it does not work

I used to have "Explorer" pinned to the taskbar, but now I just have the new shortcut with 'C:\Windows\explorer.exe %USERPROFILE%' pinned to the taskbar (with expand working).
