I installed KB5030310 update and Copilot is not showing

I have installed the update that became available today called "2023-09 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5030310)" and this did not give me the Microsoft Copilot function. Nothing happens when pressing WIN-C and I can't find settings for this function anywhere.

So what I did is join the Windows Insider Program (Dev channel) and got the latest update so I'm now running Windows 11 version 23H OS build 22631.2361 and I still don't see Windows Copilot function. Am I missing something?

    I've ended up with a PowerShell script:
    Start-Process "microsoft-edge://?ux=copilot&tcp=1&source=taskbar"
    and run it from my desktop.

    FYI: if I run the same as a bat file: 

     Start "microsoft-edge://?ux=copilot&tcp=1&source=taskbar"

    all it does is open MS Edge.

    It may help some of you here.

    More info: My problem was using Explorer Patcher (https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/releases) so that I could use a Win 10 taskbar while running Win 11 (I like my taskbar on the left of the screen). That means that I don't have CoPilot on my taskbar (and, for reasons I still dont understand, Win+C brings up the Calendar app).

    As with everything at Microsoft never try to install or take their word for it when it comes to version 1.0. The fact that the release notes state that if you live in North America then, it is installed, is complete bunk. I remember when they rolled out Windows 3.5. It also worked following initial install sporadically. You have to consider the source when it comes to brand new software, and don't think you'll be better off with Apple because they have all the exact same issues.

    I'm the U.S. and I'm having the exact same problem--Copilot was on the Taskbar and in Settings; then I installed a Windows Update and now Copilot isn't on the Taskbar and it's not listed in Settings.

    Same problem here in Canada, restarting my desktop took away the Copilot icon from the taskbar as well as the ability to start it with keyboard shortcuts.

    The Windows 11 insider program deactivates the copilot. You will have to uninstall the Windows 11 insider program to have copilot on your windows. To do that go to Windows Update>Update history>Uninstall updates. Here you can uninstall "Feature enablement for Beta Channel Preview Update".

    This should take you back to your original Windows 11 copilot.
