Windows 11 PC Sleep Mode Issue: Unresponsive Wake-Up and Fast-Spinning Fans

I am encountering a problem with my Windows 11 PC where it fails to wake up from sleep mode. The only solution I've found to turn it back on is by manually switching off the power supply and then switching it back on. Additionally, I've noticed that as soon as I initiate sleep mode, my computer's fans start spinning at a high speed. This issue began occurring randomly, and I have not made any recent updates or changes to my system.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken So Far:

  1. Checked for Windows Updates: I ensured that my Windows 11 is up to date with the latest updates and patches.
  2. Driver Updates: I have also verified that all my device drivers are up to date.
  3. Power Settings: I reviewed and adjusted my power settings
  4. Enabled & Disabled Fast Startup and Hibernate

    Same issue here. Tried multiple Clean Windows installations and different BIOS settings. Nothing so far helps.

    I am also having the exact same issue on a B550 Aorus Elite

    I thought it was resolved when disabling XMP which crashed my OS entirely (I am running two 3600 mhz ram chips when my computer can only go to 3200 - if you get rare yearly corruptions of your OS and recovery states, it seems to be from XMP with the 3000 series mother boards)

    But this issue still occurs. I only have a screensaver on, high performance mode activated, etc

    If I leave my computer on, sometimes it just has no display output and is entirely unresponsive until I hard reset the PC. Thankfully I have a shutdown button on my unit and a hard switch on my power supply, but I can't find the issue and am concerned that hard resetting my device once a week is going to damage components eventually.

    I've tried hunting through the Event Viewer log, done a Display driver uninstall and reinstall, Memtest 86+ with full 8 passthroughs, changed my NVME and reinstalled Windows 10 to update to Windows 11 - used Crystal Driver to review my lifetime statistics for ALL my drives.

    My computers hardware is within three years AND all my tests are coming back totally fine - even the local computer shop can't figure out why this issue occurs - I have no unrecognized software as it's my gaming PC and I don't want to run the risk of getting malware, viruses, keyloggers, etc.

    This must be something concerning with Windows 11's OS, since I can't see it being my PSU or GPU or my motherboard (which this problem occured on both the ORIGINAL bios install AND the newest Bios install) it's not my RAM or Hard Drives, and it's not my NVME's or SSD's.

    If it were any of that, the computer wouldn't boot at all - does anyone have an idea of why a Windows 11 desktop could randomly freeze at times when leaving it on, say, when I go for work?

    Exact same issue and completely frustrated. Both a local PC shop and a friend who was former Israeli IDF Cyber Unit was dumbfoud3ed. Have to hard reset ALMOST every time. Why and when a simple power press or a hard resent is necessary I have not figured out. Glad to see I am not alone nor believing it's an MSI or power/hibernation settings error; it's definitely a Windows 11 code issue.

    Like so many others I have this very aggravation problem. NO, updating the BIOS is not a resolution. I have tried countless solutions to which NONE have fixed. I have a HP Envy 360 that does not wake no matter what I have tried. Even getting into the registry does nothing. I have disabled sleep and it still is an issue. I have to force shutdown just to get into windows. @Microsoft, how many forced shutdowns can the motherboard take???? Guarantee that I'll bite the bullet and buy Apple Mac when this laptop dies. You're coders must be new graduates.

    Dell Alienware 17 R2 having the same issue on Windows 11. Tried many different things but doesn't seem to fix the issue. Sleep mode disabled but the screen goes dark after x amount of time of inactivity and doesn't come back no matter what I do. Only way to get it back is to force shutdown and turn it back on. Not sure what's causing the issue but definitely something with windows 11 OS. No resolution so far.
