Windows 11 PC Sleep Mode Issue: Unresponsive Wake-Up and Fast-Spinning Fans

I am encountering a problem with my Windows 11 PC where it fails to wake up from sleep mode. The only solution I've found to turn it back on is by manually switching off the power supply and then switching it back on. Additionally, I've noticed that as soon as I initiate sleep mode, my computer's fans start spinning at a high speed. This issue began occurring randomly, and I have not made any recent updates or changes to my system.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken So Far:

  1. Checked for Windows Updates: I ensured that my Windows 11 is up to date with the latest updates and patches.
  2. Driver Updates: I have also verified that all my device drivers are up to date.
  3. Power Settings: I reviewed and adjusted my power settings
  4. Enabled & Disabled Fast Startup and Hibernate

    I had this same issue with Windows 11 and dang its aggravating. I may have found a solution though so try it for yourself and see if it works for you. I have simply changed the power options so that it never goes to sleep while plugged in and if I close the lid or push the power button or if its on battery, I use hibernate. So when I am done with my work, I simply hit the power button, and it hibernates (then you can close the lid0. It never loses my spot and it comes back on every time.

    [SOLVED] I solved it for my laptop. I went into the device manager and under "COMPUTER" I disabled the one which is the one with my laptop's name/model in it. There is also a generic one that you can't delete. After a reboot, the hibernate and sleep will work like they should. SUPER WEIRD, but it worked for me. I also reset all the power alterations I made to the default, just to verify I wasn't going crazy. This has a been such a F*upped problem for so long I won't know what to do with my time now! LOL

    This is exactly my problem too, and the weird thing is that I have changed RAM and CPU and the issue still persists.

    I'm on a X570S AORUS ELITE AX motherboard.

    Quick favorable update: The issue got fixed either by jumping to the latest BIOS version (F9g) or a chipset update I did some months ago. I think it was the BIOS.

    Finally!

    After a year of searching for solutions this seems to have finally fixed it 🎉🎉🎉

    Thanks so much for the Nvidia driver hint!

    I have tested it for a bit after updating the driver and it really seems to have fixed the stalled wake after sleep behaviour.
