Failed Install 2023-09 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5030310)

Why does Windows update 2023-09 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5030310) fail to install when it's not for my co-workers? All other updates are downloaded and installed with no problem. I believe this is the Pre-CoPilot update that I have been waiting for. Install error Install error - 0x80070002.

    Hi, I'm having the same issue. I was running the system file checker and got an error message.

    C:\Windows\System32>dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

    Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool

    Version: 10.0.22621.1

    Image Version: 10.0.22621.1928

    [===========================79.0%============= ]

    Error: 3

    The system cannot find the path specified.

    The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log

    How can I fix this? Thanks.

    I have same issue. Tried everything from above list, nothing worked.
    I guess it's one of these times when MS screwed up their update and try to blame users for their failures.

    I think, we just need to patiently wait for another update that will have fix for this one.

    It bugs me so incredible how Windows f...s up even substantial tasks like updates.

    How is it possible? Linux,MacOS, Android, even Tesla knows how to easily update its devices.

    I think even a virtualized windows app runs better than on windows on its own.

    I already have a macbook as an option.

    I'm going to try parallels or something similar.....

    But this has to end...how much lifetime I already have wasted on repairing or bug fixing windows OS. It's simply a mess!

    I cannot understand why Microsoft hides behind error codes. We are the customer who paid for the OS. Microsoft is the service provider. They should simply fix it or offer a real repair tool that does the fixing on its own. I mean I don't have a problem with dropping some lines in a terminal if they really help but my mom does! Get your stuff fixed Microsoft!
