Failed Install 2023-09 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5030310)

im getting this (0x800f081f) error

using windows update from the Microsoft PC Manager (Public beta) app, I noticed that it lists a different KB being needed than what windows update in settings is trying to retrieve. in settings windows update is trying to install KB5030310, but MS PC Manager lists me as needing KB5030305. not sure why the difference in update kb's. the update installed through pc manager successfully, but update (in settings) still lists KB5030310 as needing to be installed. can anyone confirm that KB5030310 works for win 11 build 22631?

i pressed the pause updates for 1 week button, then pressed he resume updates button, and KB5030310 is no longer listed. KB5030305 was listed instead as needing to be installed. I pressed the install button, and now windows is asking to be restarted.

so maybe there was a hitch in the update system on Microsoft's end at some point and the wrong KB was offered to me, and windows got stuck trying to offer me the wrong update?

they weren't able to help me either. for whatever reason, they could not connect to me using the quick assist app. they would not help me do it manually since i am using build 22631 (insider preview). I later found out the issue with quick assist may have been because Edge was not up to date. i managed to get windows update to produce another error code when trying to install the update. This time it was 0x80246019. This showed up after updating edge. according to google search, windows defender can cause this. I had found evidence before of something being blocked if you recall. When I told windows to search for updates after updating edge, an additional update was found - an update stack package. so. now i have disabled defender blocking and real time features for the moment. and am attempting to download and install that. I don't think I have ever had an issue with windows update not working properly because of an outdated browser, not even back in the day when I was using windows 95, when windows update was run from directly for the Microsoft website. i think it was windowsupdate.microsoft.com or something like that, back then. anyways, fingers crossed. I hope it works now.

the other thing i did was shutdown Malwarebytes all the way (exited the program, instead of just turning off the protections
