Explorer.exe keeps crashing when I right click in a window or on the desktop. This seemed to start happening randomly and not after a Windows update or anything in particular.
I have tried the following:
-Disabled antivirus
-Disabled context menu's using ShellExView
-Booting into safemode
-Updating Windows
-Reinstalling the graphics driver
-sfcscan
-DISM repair
-Clear file explorer history
-Disable credential Guard in regedit
The same problem continues to happen, even in safemode.

I just fixed the issue without the need to run a repair.
I used the following command to disable the new context menu.
reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve
The problem is now resolved.

I think I have found the culprit (File Renamer Turbo)
I have now done a Fresh install of Windows 11 pro and I in the middle of restoring Drivers Games Programs etc but not the one above.
Up til now all ok (Not one Crash)
Really like the program so might see if I can install it without adding it to the Context Menu

Random Windows explorer crashes when right clicking.
Looking like the program "File Renamer Turbo"
was the culprit, for me.
Did a fresh install of Windows 11 then reinstalled a few drivers then spent ages right clicking files and folder.
If all ok added a few updates or programs etc and did the same again with the right clicking frenzy.
Installed the program above an on the first right click all the Windows closed I had open and I was back to my desktop!

I did a totally new build and installed Windows 11 Pro when the erratic windows explorer crashes when right clicking file(s) started.
I did not like the new context menu so changed it to the Windows 10 version, erratic crashes continued.
I have since done a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro and still the erratic crashes still occur?
PC does not crash just windows explorer and playing games, videos and apps all run fine so it's not the end of the world just an inconvieniance.
When I was researching a solution to the fix I don't recall seeing anything about it being a problem on fresh installs.
For testing purposes, see if you can install a virtual machine using the same Windows 11 and see if the virtual machine has the same problem
