Installation Failure for 2023-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5031356) 0x8007000D

Hi, I am unable to install latest Windows 10 22H2 Cumulative Update, with the error 0x8007000D. I have tried downloading the KB from Microsoft Update Catalog and run manually but I am getting this error as well. Has anyone else faced this issue and does anyone have a solution for this?

    same here. november 08, 2023 2:27 AM. the installation procces has failed once more. this is the 12th consecutive times this time

    Thanks, I am doing the same. Afraid to follow some of the suggestions such as deleting the Software distributions software as I am not that savy about computers and am afraid that I might make things worse. something is definitely wrong with kb5031356 and microsoft needs to fix this. Unless they are doing this on purpose to make us go to Win 11, which my computer is not able to do.

    Here you are:

    1. Delete temporary  files

    Open Run: press Windows key + R

    Enter %temp%

    Gel rid of the temporary files

    Files are located at C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\Temp

    1. Delete the files of the Software Distribution Software

    CMD line as administrator:

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop bits

    Windows Update Service and the Background Intelligent will be stopped.

    Go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder

    Delete all files, maybe some can be in use. In this case, restart the computer and try again.

    Once done the never-ending loop of installation of this update will end. If you want to activate updates again:

    net start wuauserv

    net start bits

    1. You can download freeware, StopUpdates, much easier.

    I do not know if this will work but I have delayed all updates until mid-November. I am hoping the November Patch Tuesday updates will fix this - am I being naive ?????
