This is absolutely one of the worst change Microsoft did to the windows and actually pushing users to consider other OS. @Microsoft please bring that feature back as this is making moving around files like a complete mess.
New Windows 11 file explorer can't drag and drop in address bar
Hi,
I'm really upset of the new address bar because I can't drag and drop anymore files to parent folder like in old file explorer address bar
Can you fix the problem in a close future update or tell me how to change this back to old version (exist in windows 11 file explorer)
The new address bar is above the tools bar (New - Cut - Copy - etc), the old one is bellow
Windows for home | Windows 11 | Files, folders, and storage

2023-12-13T03:30:28+00:00 PLEASE bring back drag-and-drop from the address bar of file explorer!!!! It was extremely useful feature and I used it frequently to help navigate within file folder structures.
Please don't be like Apple, i.e. removing useful features that people rely on for productivity.

2023-12-13T18:47:50+00:00 Oh Microsoft... Your users might need to relocate large amounts of files from time to time.
Carrying 1000+ files over to desktop is impossible, so instead of a simple drag and drop, I now have to the following for my workflow:
New folder serving as placeholder for my 1000+ files. Then I move it to my desktop.
Navitgate to the required folder. Open my placeholder, and then drop to the required folder.
Deadlines can be very tight, and a simple drag and drop would be appreciated, and not by me alone.

2023-12-13T19:09:57+00:00 Wouldn't it be easier to use Cut and Paste to move the files, rather than an intermediate folder or moving a folder to the desktop?
