Oh, hell yeah, number 3 all the way. I've been experiencing all the same as you but that third one is probably the worst of them all. EVERY TIME I open my downloads folder it's switched to "Group By" which I always turn off. I thought I was going insane! Once I read it, I recognized that yes, I have been having all those problems. I think the new explorer is just a copy of chrome for localhost. The only real issue I have with Edge vs Firefox is that when I go to copy a URL, I'll click the end and then just flick the mouse to the left and it'll select the whole thing. In edge, if you leave the app window with your mouse, it loses focus. So completely and utterly annoying. Why'd they have to use Chrome? The could have just purchased Mozilla and kept it alive. Oh well. No sense fighting it. We don't get to choose anymore, there's Google and Microsoft and Amazon, that's it. Computers have been catering to the lowest common denominator for decades now. Grandma doesn't know how to move folders around her storage, Kathy at the front desk can't tell you the difference between copy and cut, Steve the CFO has named every single office document and folder he's ever created IN ALL CAPS. Those are who the new Explorer is for and if Microsoft's history has told us anything, it's that we don't get to retain "professional" options as industry professionals, even with enterprise editions. I mean, do I even need to ask if everyone here has modified their registry to show the Windows 10 style right click menus instead of icons that are never in the same place twice and require mental calculations to connect the picture to the activity? I know that's not just me, and my department, and a root GPO I made for company I work for.
New Windows 11 file explorer can't drag and drop in address bar
Hi,
I'm really upset of the new address bar because I can't drag and drop anymore files to parent folder like in old file explorer address bar
Can you fix the problem in a close future update or tell me how to change this back to old version (exist in windows 11 file explorer)
The new address bar is above the tools bar (New - Cut - Copy - etc), the old one is bellow
Windows for home | Windows 11 | Files, folders, and storage

2024-04-23T01:55:51+00:00 On my workstation, setting "Apply to All Folders" wouldn't work for any of my user profile folders. I created a new account to test it and it persisted. Every single time I went into my downloads folder it was grouped and reverse date sorted. I'd change it, hit apply to all folders and subfolders, I'd browse to the folder through the full path instead of the libraries (or whatever) link, no difference. Ultimately I started with a new copy of Winders and it works OK now. I don't use a bunch of UI mods or have crazy permissions set or share shares inside shared shares, it was simply broken in a new way that I'll never know the reason for.

2024-04-23T15:32:45+00:00 I'm sure you didn't read my post where I mentioned I created a new user and the problem persisted. It was unique to my install and I didn't care to spend the time to figure out why so I reinstalled.
