New Windows 11 file explorer can't drag and drop in address bar

Hi,

I'm really upset of the new address bar because I can't drag and drop anymore files to parent folder like in old file explorer address bar

Can you fix the problem in a close future update or tell me how to change this back to old version (exist in windows 11 file explorer)

The new address bar is above the tools bar (New - Cut - Copy - etc), the old one is bellow

    You might be right. I just tried it.

    -- Right-click

    -- Show more options

    -- Cut

    -- Switch folders

    -- Right-click

    -- Show more options

    -- Paste

    Wouldn't it be easier to use Cut and Paste to move the files?

    I have the same problem. My work-around is this:

    1. move the file or files to the desktop. (If you have a lot of files to move, make a temporary folder on the desktop and move the files there).,
    2. Switch to the higher level folder or directory.
    3. Move the files from the desktop to the higher level folder that you are now in.

    As with so much else that Microsoft does, what were they thinking?

    This. IMO, Windows designers and developers, for the most part, do not use Windows Explorer like us. They don't typically manage large file collections (e.g. music, videos, research data, etc.). The bulk of users are very casual Explorer users, so, when Microsoft moves to new (slower) tech like WinUI3 to make things prettier, they will sacrifice features that perhaps are difficult to program and/or they perceive as unnecessary (because they don't ask the serious users).

    My guess is just bad UX, no UX whatsoever, Bad product scope, bad product management, lack of communication, lack of skills, bug or everything altogether. IMO product design team of Windows 11 is astonishingly bad. Also, I don't think if they use Windows at all, I'm not sure about it. How do they organize folders and other things? It's just so RAD
