New Windows 11 file explorer can't drag and drop in address bar

Hahaha I love it. In case ya'll don't know, its been a running gag at MS for a decade to mess with users with minor random changes. There's an informal yearly contest and the score is based on how many times users attempt to use or find a feature that they removed. moved, or replaced with a random different thing. However. points are also based on how many people complain about the issue on reddit / twitter, because the goal is to gaslight as much as possible so if people complain that shows they know it';s not their fault and they're not the only person annoyed.

🧑‍🎓🏫 See, this actually started as a bet between Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. They were playing Doom 2 one night at a LAN party. After a few beers and hours of furious DM rounds they kept tying in the last few seconds into like 5 overtime rounds. Not that they were like elite players. they both had the eye hand coordination you'd expect, but they were still fiercely competitive about it.

So then John Romero comes back in from his hot tub supercar and sees them STILL going at it, now almost morning, and says "You know what would be sick? lol ok so.. how about the winner is whoever can get the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES to complain on their company's forum because its become a national crisis, but without losing market share or customers? like you gotta have a politician step in on behalf of the people but nobody's still switching to like linux?"

Bill and Steve were like OMG YASSS (You know Bill can sound all weird and screechy but this definitely an octave higher and louder if you can imagine) and Steve rolled his turtle neck up all the way to the edge of his chin and pulled out his iphone, dialed a number and just said "HEY. ITS STEVE. You know the macbook? Cut the budget for the screen ribbon cable. I want it to rub against stuff and eventually break. No that isn't going to cost us money, because we're going to tell them its unfixable. Don't worry about the tech repair youtubers! Nobody's going to believe its just a 10 cent part that got disconnected because THAT would mean THEY're stupid for buying a new macbook when we told them it was their fault it broke! Hahahahhahahahah"

So far there's no clear winner, so if you just understand what's going on its actually pretty funny when you run into something like this, because you're just like "ok this is like the 50th time I've tried opening a zip i downloaded and quickly copying out a folder into the downloads directory, and it changes the mouse cursor to 🚫. Someone probably has a fix for it online lets see... On the Microsoft forum, good, that's probably got the answ- wait what? MS removed the most convenient and efficient way to copy/move files into a parent folder?? Hahahahaha omg 🤣 people legit think the dev team just doesn't realize that feature is a daily habit for thousands of people?? Hahahahaha this one dude with a link saying go report it to them OH OH AND THEY'RE MARKING HIS ADVICE HELPUL I CAN'T BELIEVE - *crying laughing* that's too good. Love it. This is top tier trolling, not even mad about it 😂😂🤪🤡"

I'm really upset of the new adress bar because I can't drag and drop anymore files to parent folder like in old file explorer adress bar

Can you fix the problem in a close future update or tell me how to change this back to old version (exist in windows 11 file explorer)

The new adress bar is above the tools bar (New - Cut - Copy - etc), the old one is bellow

I had a client upset over this issue. I suggested the utility Q-Dir - she was satisfied with this solution. Just FYI for you folks.

No more drag and drop?! Way to make Windows worse. I can't understand the reason for getting rid of a feature which makes productivity more optimal.

Why!?!?!?!? I always use this and now it's the most cumbersome task ever having to cut and paste manually. I wish I stayed on Windows 10.
