Hi,

I'm really upset of the new address bar because I can't drag and drop anymore files to parent folder like in old file explorer address bar

Can you fix the problem in a close future update or tell me how to change this back to old version (exist in windows 11 file explorer)

The new address bar is above the tools bar (New - Cut - Copy - etc), the old one is bellow

Windows for home | Windows 11 | Files, folders, and storage

This is just a temp solution and only lasts for as long as you have the particular Explorer window open.

How to easily switch to Windows 10 File Explorer on Windows 11 22H2 (youtube.com)

    • Open Control Panel (I had to open from the Start/search bar in the taskbar)
    • In the address bar, click the arrow next to the icon
    • Click Home (or any other folders on the dropdown)

It will revert back to the Windows 10 version of windows explorer, but again, only for this particular window. If you close it an open a new explorer window, it'll be the Windows 11 version.

ETA: I don't have administrator access on my work laptop, so a temp solution is likely my best option right now.

This is as annoying as the "we hear your pain" comments on every reply. You do not hear us, you only hear our money.

Mr. Shade, a spokesman for Microsoft, announced a new operating system called Eldorado. It is simple, stable, and you can even use it to run old software that you used to like. Furthermore, if users find a flaw in it, Microsoft will correct that flaw quickly.

A Boomer I know asked Mr. Shade, "Where can I find Eldorado?"

‘Over the Mountains Of the Moon,Down the Valley of the Shadow,Ride, boldly ride,’The shade replied,—‘If you seek for Eldorado!’

Wait so is the poem like a java script cuz I don't really know scripting or hacking cuz I'm really just a basic Gen X Windows 3.0 user and lack brain elasticity to learn new things at my age. So maybe anything that doesn't work and maybe DID work previously is just early onset dementia and I should get used to it. I should have had kids.

😂 Mind bogglingly, file explorer now lets me drag files to the address bar again after applying the poem.
